Local Democrats embrace liberal ACLU agenda

The local Democrats running for office this year have gone whole hog over to the dark side.  Now they are attacking the Republicans for not having the support of those party-poopers at the ACLU who want to do away with Christmas and other holidays that normal people enjoy.

Yep, Jennifer Hamilton, Kate Matteson, Gina Trish, and Dan Perez are joining forces with those people who sue local governments (taxpayers) every time they put up a Christmas display.  Yes, these are the same folks who go apoplectic every time someone says a prayer at a public event.  And yet, somehow it is okay for these same Democrats to display banners with Islamic symbols and Wiccan witchcraft symbols on it.

Is this a case of "out with the old religion and in with the new"?

In the case of Republican Assemblyman Parker Space, the ANTIFA twins Kate & Gina attacked him for refusing to vote to allow convicted criminals in prison unlimited access to taxpayer-subsidized telephones.  Kate & Gina also criticized Assemblyman Space for not backing President Obama's decree that would have allowed anatomical males -- people with penises who think they are women -- into the private facilities of school girls (i.e. toilet facilities, showers, and changing areas).  Apparently, Kate & Gina think that the Republican is wrong for having concern for the safety of young women.

But who is really wrong here?  Is Assemblyman Space wrong for opposing legislation that would endanger the lives of women and girls in New Jersey.  Or are Kate Matteson & Gina Trish wrong (along with their Democrat running mates Jennifer Hamilton and Dan Perez) for putting politically correct fashion statements ahead of the safety of women and girls.  Watch this video and then YOU decide:

Local Democrats play games on illegal immigration

Where do they stand?  Are they or aren't they?

Local Democrat candidates have made contradictory statements on illegal immigration -- saying one thing in a questionnaire, another at a private meeting, something else at a vigil on the Green, a different thing in the newspaper, and still something else again at a public debate.  It is tough to keep up with all their twists and turns on the issue of illegal immigration.

As a public service, we are featuring statements they made on the subject, like this one:

The only thing certain is this:  The Democrats and their party support turning New Jersey into a Sanctuary State.  Yep, the entire state.

What that means to New Jersey taxpayers is explained by former Mayor Steve Lonegan:

"A 'sanctuary state' will mean a huge influx of people who will need the social services safety net more than average.  The Democrat gubernatorial ticket has promised to impose a so-called 'millionaire's tax' that will chase away those who currently fund the state's social safety net.  Those who are left... the middle class who can't leave because of a job, or because they can't sell their home for what they paid for it, or because their child wants to finish school -- they will have to make up for the shortfall in higher taxes.

That won't be easy, because at 26.1% of income, the cost of living in New Jersey is, according to Bloomberg, by far the most expensive in the nation.  Meanwhile, state household income is nearly seven percent lower than it was in 2008 and has only grown by a little more than one percent since then.

Those coming to the new 'Sanctuary State' of New Jersey will enter the workforce of the gray economy, where the minimum wage doesn't apply.  But for everyone else it does -- which will leave trade union workers, manufacturing, medical care and health workers, service industry workers, and mothers with part-time jobs all at a disadvantage when competing for a job.  It will be bad news for people trying to pay their mortgage, their property taxes, those hoping to avoid foreclosure.

And just where will all these newcomers to the 'Sanctuary State of New Jersey' reside?  Why in subsidized sanctuary housing -- courtesy of COAH and its plan to build tens of thousands of new subsidized no-questions-asked units throughout New Jersey.

This will require massive infrastructure investment by taxpayers -- and an increase in property tax collections.  To pay for it, the Democrats intend to scrap the 2-percent cap on local government spending.  Under the Democrats property taxes rose an average of 6.1 percent a year -- triple the rate of inflation.  Since the cap, property taxes have gone up an average of just 2.1 percent a year."

"If the Democrats are successful with their idea, they will have to build a wall to keep taxpayers in," Lonegan said.  True enough.

Stay tuned...

Rasmussen Poll: 67% say NO to the NFL

Americans appear to have had enough.  A new poll by Rasmussen shows 67 percent of Americans in opposition to tax breaks for NFL teams and their owners.

Rasmussen polled this question nationally: "Do you favor or oppose giving tax breaks to NFL teams?"

In response, 67 percent answered "NO", just 18 percent answered "YES", with 15 percent undecided or not sure.  More women opposed tax breaks than men: 68% NO, 13% YES, 19% Not Sure.

Non-white/non-African-American voters were strongest in opposition.  They answered 70% NO, 16% YES, 14% Not Sure.  African-Americans were strongly opposed however: 62%, 22%, 16%.

There was very little difference between the parties, with Republicans and Democrats in opposition to tax breaks at 71% and 69%, respectively.

Looks like the wheels are coming off all those efforts by rich, suburban, pseudo-leftists -- who have troubled so many of our public spaces with their attempts at becoming local B-list celebrities.  Your attempt at making a fashion statement has suffered a backlash.  Congratulations!

ANTIFA's Kate & Gina support Corzine-era school aid

New Jersey has the most inequitable system of education funding in America and, as a result, the highest property taxes.  The income tax -- which was passed 40 years ago on the promise of reducing property taxes -- is a failure and a scam that subsidizes the property tax bills of well-to-do professionals in places like Hoboken and Jersey City, at the expense of working families in rural and suburban towns.

New Jersey is rated as just about the worst place in America to start a business and the state has lagged in job creation because of a putative regulatory regime and a tax structure that compares unfavorably with the rest of America.  This inability to create employment for its citizens leads to a cycle of despair that includes high unemployment, underemployment, debt, foreclosure, record levels of poverty, and child hunger.

The politically-appointed, unelected state Supreme Court has destroyed the ability of suburban towns to determine their own future and it has deprived people in rural communities of the use of their land without compensating them for their loss of rights.  The unelected Court has stripped the elected Legislature of its primary role of determining how the people's money is spent and it has moved power away from the voters and into the hands of the political bosses who are responsible for their appointment.

And Kate & Gina... they are cool with all this.

At Tuesday night's debate in Ogdensburg, the ANTIFA twins drooled all over the legacy of faux-liberal Governor Jon Corzine (Democrat - Goldman Sachs).  It was Corzine, it will be remembered, who raped the working families of rural and suburban New Jersey, in order to feed the political patronage machines of urban school districts.  Under Corzine, less money made it into the classrooms, while administrative overhead ballooned.

At Tuesday's debate, "Dishonest Kate" Matteson explicitly defended the Corzine era-school funding formula -- specifically praising the corrupt and essentially unaudited free lunch program and the program that provides extra-funding for non-English speaking children.  Matteson defended the fact that the so-called Abbott school districts absorb most of the available state school funding, even though half the state's economically disadvantaged children live outside the Abbott districts.  In so doing, "Dishonest Kate" Matteson merely confirmed that she is, in fact, no different than any other urban Democrat in wanting to screw over the taxpayers of Sussex and Warren Counties.

Meanwhile, the other ANTIFA twin -- Gina Trish -- attacked her Warren County neighbor, Senator Mike Doherty, and his Fair School Funding plan, which would which cut property taxes in Sussex and Warren Counties by backing up every school child in the state with enough school funding to cover the basics -- instead of a few urban districts getting all the money to fund a bloated administration, political patronage, and non-educational bells and whistles.  ANTIFA Trish is fine with the current formula that makes working families in Sussex and Warren Counties subsidize the property taxes of rich one-percenters in Hoboken and Jersey City.

Senator Mike Doherty says ALL CHILDREN'S LIVES MATTER.

The ANTIFA twins Kate & Gina support the current Democrat mantra that wants to keep the subsidies going to rich one-percenters, political patronage hacks, and well-connected corporations -- at the expense of people like us.

"Dishonest Kate" Matteson gets confused at debate

At Tuesday night's highly choreographed debate in Ogdensburg, Democrats Kate Matteson & Gina Trish followed the script provided them by their handlers from the office of Democrat Assemblyman Tim Eustace.  But at times, Kate & Gina -- affectionately known as the "ANTIFA twins" because of their involvement in those pro-Sanctuary State/ pro-Muslim/ illegal immigration/ anti-Trump rallies held on Newton Green -- appeared to make statements that belied a lack of historical knowledge of the recent political history of New Jersey.

For instance, Matteson made the statement that "only a decade ago, Sussex County was  booming" and then attempted to blame the lack of it today on the Republicans in the Legislature.  In fact (and as anyone with even the slightest knowledge would know) Sussex County's current economic difficulties are the result of the Highlands Act, which was pushed through against the objections of the county and its property owners by Democrat Governor Jim McGreevey.

The Highlands Act was major Democrat Party legislation that created a regulatory nightmare for the people who reside on 859,000 acres in Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, and Passaic Counties.  This Democrat legislation took away the property rights of thousands of people and made the government their masters.  The late Senator Bob Littell fought to get exemptions for certain towns within the Highlands Region, and Jim McGreevey acknowledged this in his book covering his time as Governor.

Since being signed into law on August 10, 2004, by Democrat Governor Jim McGreevey, the Highlands Act has been responsible for suppressing the economy of Sussex County.  Economists agree that because of the regulatory hurdles imposed by state legislation like the Highlands Act, it took New Jersey longer to recover from the Great Recession than neighboring states.  According to the Pew Charitable Trust, New Jersey lagged behind most states (and all of its neighbors) in economic growth since the Great Recession.  One reason for that is the fact that its largest undeveloped land mass has been locked-up and quarantined to economic growth and job creation.

And let's be clear:  The Democrats did that.  Kate & Gina's political party.

At Tuesday's debate, "Dishonest Kate" Matteson said that Sussex County needed to be more "inviting to business."  That's true, but you  will first have to get rid of all the disinviting regulations passed and put into place by her party -- the Democrat Party.  Because of Democrats like ANTIFA twins Kate & Gina, the Tax Foundation rates New Jersey as the worst state in America for its business climate.

So don't let the ANTIFA twins fool you with their talk of "growth" and "jobs".

They support the destructive Highlands Act.  The only "growth" they are looking for is bigger government and more regulation of our lives -- our businesses, what we eat, what we say, and how we think.  The only "jobs" they want are more political patronage jobs for their buddies.  More government jobs -- less free market.
