A lesson in American studies
Sussex County WatchdogA certain Sussex County Freeholder, who was named in Sunday's New Jersey Herald as a central figure in the solar scandal, has questioned Watchdog's right to exist. Mr. Freeholder, along with a small coterie who sadly have missed out on their education, claim that anonymous publications should be banned. They want to send men with guns to break up the printing presses and burn the books at Watchdog's dog barn.
This is a deeply anti-American idea. It goes against everything we stand for. Did they forget or perhaps never learned that the anonymous Federalist Papers are one of the building blocks of our Republic? They were written, anonymously, under the pseudonym "Publius" between October 1787 and August 1788. Mr. Freeholder and his acolytes believe that anonymous speech today should be stamped out and so it follows that the writers of the Federalist Papers -- Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay -- should have been crushed under the totalitarian boot.
Instead of burning books, Mr. Freeholder should try reading them. Perhaps broaden his perspective? Gain a little tolerance for opinions not his own?
It's all about words. We love them more than you do, Mr. Freeholder. As an anonymous character once said, "Words will always retain their power. Words are for the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the annunciation of truth."

Watchdog - you guys keep doing what you are doing. I appreciate your posts and am so glad you are here. I understand the reasons for your anonymity and don't blame you for one second. If you take a look at what has been happening to me, personally after opposing this solar fiasco, you know I'll support you. You stay behind the scenes because everything you have posted is back up with facts. Good for you! Keep fighting the good fight. PS - I have some things I'm going to be sending you!

Such an easy gig if you can get it, anonymous red meat for the rural fringe. Your strategy of keeping the lunatics and less- than- brilliant local pols craving more garbage looks like it has run its course. You have become a liability rather than an asset; you've crossed one too many lines over the past months and even the Sen from the 24th knows it. Tick Tick Tick.

The real gig, the gig where the money changes hands is what big ass is doing. Collecting influence and then selling it.
You know the difference between a "big assed woman" and a woman with a big ass? With the last it's just the ass. With the first, it is everything, especially the mouth. All loud and loose and sloppy. Um-um, just perfect for them thar tow-truck drivers. Or a line cook. Greasy does it. Or (well, you get the idea).
