Democrats silent on locking child in cage with sex-offenders

Trenton Democrats have been curiously silent on liberal activist and Democrat campaign contributor Peter Fonda’s call to have the President’s child put “in a cage with pedophiles”.  Especially given their over-the-top behavior when it comes to band banners or photos of men in high heels or Facebook posts comparing Democrats to Fascists or mere humor of any kind (except Trump jokes, those – like the Bush jokes of yore – are permitted).

Where is Lorretta Weinberg (does grandma approve of Fonda’s plan?) or Tom Moran (would he want to climb into that cage too?) or Britnee Timberlake or Ben Silva or NJTV’s Michael Hill or Jersey City’s Michael Maddalena or Michael Billy or Green Party moe Kenneth Collins… Where is the outrage?  Where are the demands that he be fired or that his business enterprise be boycotted?

Can we assume that “silence equals consent”?  Isn’t that what the idiots above claim?  Silence = Consent… correct?  So YOUR silence means… what?

A couple Wednesdays ago, local Democrat Party officials, the National Organization for Women, and some LGBT activists – led by Democrat-turned Green Party-turned Republican-turned Green Party activist Kenneth Collins – showed up at a meeting of the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders to demand that Freeholder Carl Lazzaro, an ordained Christian clergyman, apologize and resign for expressing the following opinion:

Yes, they wanted the man’s head for writing that.  Yep, that’s it.

But from their SILENCE can we gather that they approve of this…

Where is the outrage?  Where are the demands that something be done?

Do they approve?  Or are they just engaging in a sneaky bit of schadenfreude?

Where is the National Organization for Women on this???  Why isn’t the Green Party’s Kenneth Collins organizing a rally on Newton Green?

MEMO to Loretta, Tom, Britnee, et al… Don’t ever bring up “hate” again until you face this head on, openly discuss it, and state your opinions publicly.

The mind of Harvey Roseff. The arrogance of Nathan Orr.

The New Jersey Herald has a ban on comments from political figures... err, some political figures:  The ones they don't like.  They promote other political figures all the time and provide them with unfettered access to attack their political opponents.

The Herald must hate Senator Steve Oroho.  They allow politicians like failed 2015 candidate for Freeholder Harvey Roseff and failed 2015 Assembly candidates Nathan Orr and Kenneth Collins to attack Steve Oroho and pull down comments defending him.  This is one-sided and amounts to a campaign contribution by the Herald to defeat Senator Oroho.

A recent column featured two attacks by once and future candidate Roseff, an attack by once and future candidate Orr, another attack by once and future candidate Collins, plus attacks by the brother of Congressman Scott Garrett and long-term incumbent Richard Kell.  Sounds like a pretty darn political bunch to us!

Incumbent Kell has been on the Franklin School Board since 2002, where he has been responsible for a few property tax increases in his time.  He displays a breathless lack of knowledge of basic economic theory when he dismisses claims that the phasing out of the estate tax would only help "those who die."  Here is some reading material for Mr. School Board Incumbent.  Go on, educate yourself:

http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2015/07/state-death-tax-is-a-killer

Another Oroho proposal Kell opposes is Senator Oroho's plan to eliminate the tax on retirement income.  Oroho's bill would save the average retiree in Sussex County nearly $2,500 a year.  Watchdog intends to remind voters of Kell's position at the next opportunity.  Retirees who pay property taxes for School Board incumbent Kell to spend are going to love hearing about the screwing he gave them.

We would expect the brother of Congressman Garrett to have better things to do than to piss on other Republicans.  Too bad.

Kenny Collins... candidate for the Assembly and wild man of the Left.  What can we say?  The crap that flows from his mouth is deep and you need a bong to understand it.  But at least Kenny has a certain consistency about him:  He thinks Oroho is a GOP capitalist, Kenny hates all GOP capitalists, so his default position is....

2015 Assembly candidate Nathan Orr is a young man with big head.  He got that big head by coming in third with... (wait for it)... 11 percent of the vote. That's pretty short for you to have such a big head.  Nathan is a very young man.  Still at school.  But that hasn't stopped him from lecturing anyone who will listen.  See, Nathan doesn't believe he has anything to learn, but that he has it in him to teach.  And that makes for a very foolish young man.

Now we come to 2015 Freeholder candidate Harvey Roseff.  There are times when Harvey hits the mark and then there are other times when... well let's just say that he forgets that what he doesn't know, he doesn't know.  Today's comment was a doozy.  Harvey said it was "crazy" for a town to conduct a financial impact statement before taking a position that could (A) result in a decline in revenue, and (B) cause its citizens to pay higher property taxes.

What's up Harvey?  Come on, did someone take a dump in your brain and forget to flush it?  Now flush that bad boy away and think about it.  It's real basic stuff.

It took 13 deaths for MN to raise its gas tax

145 victims, 22 children, 13 deaths, one bridge collapse.  Finally, some action from the Legislature.

Senator Steve Oroho doesn't think we should wait until we are burying children, for the state to face the fact that the Transportation Trust Fund is going bankrupt.

Others disagree, like approved Herald commentator Michele Guttenberger.

Senator Steve Oroho doesn't want homeowners and businesses to face a property tax explosion when the inevitable tragedy leads to lawsuits against government for negligence.  Steve Oroho is behaving the way we expect adults to behave in a crisis.  He isn't screaming.  He isn't crying.  He isn't blaming.  He isn't having a hissy fit  -- or an attack of the snarkies.

But some, like failed politician Kenneth Collins, would rather close their eyes and cling to cheap slogans instead of being an adult.

Senator Steve Oroho is an adult.  He isn't taking the easy way, the political way.  Steve Oroho is taking the responsible way.

In the real world, we know that when the money runs out, and the workers don't get paid, the repairs will stop.  Here's how it works.

The Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) collects money from the gas tax and then uses that money to maintain and repair state roads and bridges.  The TTF also sends money to local governments (counties and municipalities) so that they can afford to maintain and repair the roads and bridges that they own.

The TTF is nearly bankrupt.  There will be no money for the maintenance and repair of the roads and bridges owned by the state AND there will be no money to send to local governments to maintain and repair their roads and bridges.

When that happens, local governments will have a decision to make:  Either they raise property taxes on every homeowner and business to pay for the maintenance and repair of roads and bridges; or they allow those roads and bridges to fall into disrepair, and become unsafe.

If local governments take the second option and allow roads and bridges to become unsafe, they will be left with just two choices:  Close those roads and bridges as they become unsafe, or accept that there will be lawsuits for negligence when people are injured or killed on those unsafe roads and bridges.  Of course, the legal bills and settlements for such lawsuits will also result in the need to raise property taxes -- so the taxpayer will lose either way.

Approximately one-third of gas tax revenues in New Jersey come from out-of-state travelers.  All property taxes come from the people of New Jersey.  So which do you think is the best way to pay for improvements to roads and bridges, an increase in the gas tax or an increase in property taxes?

Let us know and we'll publish your thoughts and suggestions.  Unlike some in the corporate media, we are not afraid of having an open debate.

Watchdog has reached out to victims and to families of victims of those who failed to act like adults -- until it was too late.  Watchdog will be hosting a telephone town hall in which the folks here in Sussex County can talk directly with the people who have suffered when government kicked the can down the road instead of dealing with it like adults.  We believe it will be instructive.
