Hayden attacks Oroho's wife, daughter

When will this thug stop attacking people's families?

William J. Hayden (AKA Bill Hayden, Dell Hayden, Skylands Patriot ) is an 18 year public employee of the New Jersey Department of Transportation.  He works as a supervisor, based in Trenton, where he pockets a salary and extras more each year than any legislator earns -- plus full benefits and a pension.  Hayden is a member of the CWA -- one of the most liberal unions in America.

He doesn't vote much.  He made it last November, but the last time before that was 2010.  Now he thinks we should give him a second public job -- as our legislator. 

First, Hayden claimed that Senator Steve Oroho wasn't a CPA.  That was the first Hayden lie about the Oroho family, as the document below makes clear.

Then he attacked Senator Steve Oroho's son on his Skylands website:

"We went on the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs website. There we found that a Steven Oroho from Mt. Laurel signed up to take a test in 2012, but never went any further."

Just so you fully understand who bully Hayden is trashing, let us remind you.  Steven Oroho Jr. is a veteran of the war to liberate Iraq.  He signed-up for it and served four years in the United States Army, rising to the rank of sergeant.  While Hayden was playing video games in his bunker, young Steve Oroho was on the line, fighting to keep our nation's actual enemies at bay. 

And yes, young Steve Oroho did eventually take that CPA test and pass and he also took a test to be a Certified Fraud Examiner, which he passed as well.  With the likes of Hayden around, a certified fraud examiner is just what we need.

But that wasn't enough for a thug like Hayden, he had to go after the women too.  He had to drag Mrs. Oroho into it too.  He put up this Facebook post over the weekend:

Once again, this idiot flat out lies.  The truth is that Rita Mary Oroho -- Senator Oroho's daughter -- is a CPA.  Yes, there are three CPA's in the Oroho family:  Steve Sr., Steve Jr., and Rita Mary.  But not Mrs. Rita Oroho.  She is not a CPA.

If Hayden was anything like a man, he would apologize to these women for dragging them into his stupid attempt to falsely malign a husband and a father.  If Hayden's followers were anything like men, they would demand that Hayden apologize.  Let's see if they man-up or wimp-out.

Hayden caught in lie about Oroho's family

On Friday, Hayden and company (which includes Democrat-turned-Republican George Graham, Democrat Freeholder candidate Dan Perez, among others) put out a lie about Senator Steve Oroho. 

Steve Oroho is a traditional Reagan conservative:  One-hundred percent Pro-Life, a proud NRA member, a Sunday churchgoer, Chairman of New Jersey's American Legislative Exchange Council, a Heritage Foundation supporter, a believer in that old-fashioned conservatism that says avoid borrowing and spend only what you take in.  His rural, hill country district isn't a wealthy one, but it is filled with the kind of salt-of-the-earth conservatives who have since 2007 elected and re-elected Steve Oroho with 70 percent of the vote or more.

Senator Oroho is a practical numbers man.  He's a certified financial planner and CPA.  Before beginning his career of public service, Steve Oroho was a senior financial officer for S&P 500 companies like W. R. Grace and  Young & Rubicam.  Steve has helped to put companies like Burson Marsteller back on a healthy financial track.

Hayden, with his background as a Trenton DOT bureaucrat, decided to spread a little dirt on Steve Oroho by questioning his credentials.  Here's what he wrote:

"First; we went on the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs website. There we found that a Steven Oroho from Mt. Laurel signed up to take a test in 2012, but never went any further. We then checked with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. No luck there. We then checked the entire CPA roster in New Jersey and in New York…nope. No Steven Oroho. We think that the Senator has some explaining to do."

This is straight out of the Gail Phoebus fantasy playbook -- and if this kind of b.s. continues, we will be hearing about more on that...

Not to worry.  Unlike Hayden, Watchdog has the intellectual capacity to actually read and, if Hayden had actually read the age of the "Steven Oroho from Mt. Laurel" who signed up to take the test, he should have figured out that it was the Senator's son -- Steven Oroho Jr. 

So now Hayden and company is trashing the Oroho family.

As for old Steve Oroho - Steve Sr. - Senator Steve Oroho, he has been a CPA since 1982.  We reached out to the Senator's campaign and they graciously forwarded us a copy of his license. 

The lies spread by Hayden and his Skylands Patriot website have already been responsible for the end of one political career, that of Assemblywoman Gail Phoebus.  The whopper Skylands told about the district office lockdown and OLS destroyed her credibility in Trenton and left colleagues questioning her state of mind.  It was downhill from there. 

Anyone working with the Skylands website -- and that goes for a couple of low key Freeholders -- should be aware that you cannot treat the family members of candidates the way you treat candidates.  They are not necessarily public figures. 

While we welcome the presence of more blogs in Sussex County and Northwest New Jersey, you cannot just make things up.  It brings down the entire enterprise.  Just a friendly reminder, blog-to-blog.

Another lie by candidate Hayden?

Hayden doesn't like to follow rules.  He didn't follow the Ethics rules of the NJ Department of Transportation when he decided to run for office.  He also isn't very good at telling the truth.  On Facebook, Hayden tries to cover up his public job and his association with a labor union.  He claims to be "self-employed."

But as a candidate for public office, Hayden is required to fill out a personal financial disclosure form honestly and truthfully.  This is what he filed:

That's right, no self-employment is noted.  No business interests.  Nothing but his public employment with NJ DOT. 

Either Hayden is lying to the voters on Facebook or he lied on his Financial Disclosure.  Which is it?

So why not just be straight with the voters?  Why the cover up?

Candidate Hayden broke DOT rules to run

The Department of Transportation has certain simple rules.  Before you contemplate running for partisan elected office, you are supposed to notify the executive office.  It is the same when you have any form of outside employment that might cut in on the time you are paid working for the taxpayers.  It is plainly written, in black and white, in the Ethics Manual that all DOT employees must abide by:

The NJ Department of Transportation Code of Ethics states:  "Employees who intend to run for partisan elective public office must submit an Outside Employment /Activities (PR-102) Form to supervision and the Ethics Liaison Officer prior to becoming a candidate for such office." (Page 20, under Political Activity)

Somehow the media missed this when they reported on March 31st that Hayden had announced his intention to run a day earlier and was collecting signatures.  On April 2nd, the Herald posted a story that announced Hayden was a candidate. 

But even at that late date, Hayden had failed to follow the Ethics rules and had not notified DOT superiors or the Ethics Liaison Officer.  In typical Hayden bully fashion, he just did whatever he wanted to do and to hell with the rules.

In fact, according to DOT records obtained through the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), Hayden took his time and didn't follow Ethics rules.  He filed and was on the ballot (April 3rd) and was still in the middle of an Ethics process that should have occurred prior to him even circulating a petition to run for partisan elected office.

We guess the rules don't apply for some people.  Or some people don't think they do.  But that doesn't stop Hayden from laying down rules for everyone else -- as those who have had to deal with his high-handed manner as a DOT supervisor will attest.  And now he wants even more power to make rules for people that he will not follow himself.

Photo Credit: New Jersey HeraldWhy would any self-respecting Republican or Republican organization lend its name to promote the antics of William Jefferson Hayden.  True, he got a little over 100 signatures and qualified for a place on the ballot.  To do so, he got some people to switch to Republican to circulate his petitions.  That said, he is a qualified candidate, but only because the threshold for ballot access is so low.

David Duke was a qualified candidate for public office too.  So was Lyndon LaRouche.  So was the Byram cannibal, Councilman Rick Meltz.  So was murder-for-hire Freeholder candidate Chris Thieme.  They all got more than a hundred signatures too.  Nut jobs, the bunch of them. 

Our objection to W. J. "Bill" Hayden is that he is crude, pornographic, and juvenile.  His very involvement in the process brings disrepute to the process and disrespect to the people and party organizations that have anything to do with him.

 

Just to introduce him, is to affirm that you accept all his Facebook posted comments about "grabbing pussy" or "guns and pussy."  It is to affirm all his lewd antics -- aimed largely at Republicans and conservatives -- like photo-shopping the faces of prominent Sussex County Republicans onto vaginas. 

 

To acknowledge Hayden celebrates his terroristic Facebook post of an aerial view of what he thought was the house of a political opponent with the words "target acquired" underneath.  It turned out to be the wrong house and the home of an innocent family with children. 

To promote Hayden or his team in any way means that you say it is OK to post pictures of your handguns on Facebook on the same page you use to threaten people.  It is to say that it is OK to claim to have handed out Halloween candy to children from a candy bowl stuffed with automatic magazines and Glock handguns.  How does this stupid, childish behavior help the Republican Party and the conservative cause?  It does enormous damage to the cause of the Second Amendment because it makes its supporters look like cartoon characters and gives our opponents ammunition they otherwise would not have.

To promote Hayden is to say that you believe it is OK for a non-profit group like the Tea Party to be hijacked by a pair of poseurs and turned into their personal vehicle for self-promotion.  Haven't we seen this already happen in Sussex County -- with the League of Municipalities? 

To promote Hayden is to say that it is OK for the Tea Party to block conservative Republican Assemblyman Parker Space and his family -- after humiliating them at a meeting to which they were invited as guests of said group.  That snarky New York City lawyer, Douglas Amedeo, president of the group, plays at inviting the Assemblyman and his family back, but does so on a Facebook page from which Mr. and Mrs. Space have been blocked by Amedeo.  Cute trick.  Typical lawyer.

To promote Hayden is to say that you celebrate hate and reject rational discussion.  But hey, if someone really, really believes that photo-shopping faces onto vaginas is the way to get things done -- then William Jefferson Hayden is right up your alley.
